Digital Safety Awareness
Overview

About this program

Most people learn to use the internet long before anyone teaches them how to stay safe on it. Our Digital Safety Awareness program closes that gap with plain-language sessions, campaigns, and resources that make online risk easy to understand and easy to act on.

We focus on the everyday situations that actually catch people out: a too-good-to-be-true offer, an urgent message from a "bank", a link that is not quite what it seems. Instead of technical theory, we teach memorable habits that anyone can use, regardless of age or experience.

Why It Matters

Why awareness is the first line of defence

Scams, phishing, and misinformation evolve faster than any software update. The single most effective protection is a person who can pause and recognise the warning signs before they click, share, or pay.

Awareness also scales further than any tool. One well-run session can protect an entire family or neighbourhood, because the people who attend carry what they learn back home and pass it on.

What We Cover

The ground this program covers

Spotting scams & phishing

Recognising fraudulent messages, fake offers, and impersonation across SMS, email, calls, and social media.

Safer everyday habits

Simple routines like verifying senders, thinking before clicking, and never sharing OTPs, which prevent most incidents.

Misinformation & fact-checking

How to question, verify, and avoid spreading false or harmful information online.

Protecting money & identity

Recognising financial fraud and keeping personal details out of the wrong hands.

Knowing where to get help

What to do, and who to turn to, the moment something feels wrong online.

Our Approach

How we run it

Listen first

We start by understanding the community’s real concerns and the scams actually circulating locally.

Teach simply

Interactive, jargon-free sessions built around real examples rather than technical theory.

Equip to share

Attendees leave with easy-to-share material so the learning spreads beyond the room.

Stay reachable

We point people to ongoing guidance so help is there long after the session ends.
